Zvjezdanka Vlašić
Zvjezdanka Vlašić was born in 1942 in Šibenik. Her mother, father and much of her family were involved in the Partisan movement. As a ten month old baby, Zvjezdanka was interned with her mother in a camp on the island of Molat. After the capitulation of Italy, Germans came to the area; they took Zvjezdanka's mother to a camp in Germany, separating her from her daughter. Since her grandparents were in refuge in El Shatt, and her father was with the Partisans, a neighbour from Vodice took care of Zvjezdanka until her grandparents returned from El Shatt. Her mother only returned to Vodice in 1946, after the capitulation of Germany. After the Second World War, her family was resettled in the area of Baranja. Zvjezdanka attended school partly in Beli Manastir and partly in Vodice where her grandmother lived, and later in Zagreb and in Šibenik. After completing her education she lived and worked in Vodice and in Zadar. In 1979, for personal reasons, she moved to Sarajevo where she survived the war and the siege of the town. Today she lives in Zadar and she is active in the Association of Antifascist Fighters.
