Zdenka Golušić
Zdenka Golušić was born in 1943 in Sarajevo. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Zagreb. She stayed there until 1971 when, together with her husband who comes from Slano near to Dubrovnik, she moved to Dubrovnik. During Yugoslavia she lead the Protocol Service of the City of Dubrovnik. At the beginning of the siege of Dubrovnik she and her family found shelter at the Hotel Argentina where, alongside some local inhabitants, many journalists and European observers were accommodated. On October 6, 1991 on the road towards Slano she was captured and taken to the Bileća camp. She was subsequently taken to Trebinje, to the Hotel Leotar. She was released on November 1, 1991 and returned to Dubrovnik. Her husband had already taken their children to Rijeka, to protect them from danger, so Zdenka Golušić left Dubrovnik on November 16 with the ship 'Slavija'. She went first to Rijeka and then to Zagreb. At the end of August 1992 she returned to Dubrovnik. Today she is retired and she lives in Dubrovnik.
