Vojo Kutić

Vojo Kutić was born in 1939 in Donji Vakuf, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He moved to Bjelovar in 1961, where he worked in the police until his retirement in April 1991. He is in a mixed marriage; his wife is of Croatian nationality. During the war in Croatia, two buildings owned by him were mined and destroyed, one in December 1991 and the other in November 1994. He brought an action against the Republic of Croatia for compensation, but it was only the European Court for Human Rights that in 2002 ruled in his favour and ordered that the Croatian stated pay compensation to him and his wife. The case has been sent back to Croatia, and Vojo Kutić is still waiting for the resolution of the action he brought. Today he lives with his wife in Pula, in Istria.
