Vladimir Solar

Vladimir Solar was born in 1941 in Sveti Ivan Žabno near to Koprivnica. He is a doctor. Until the outbreak of war in Croatia he was the Director of the Pakrac Medical Centre. On August 19, some rebellious Serbs or members of their Territorial Defence arrested him and took him to the Bučje camp, where he was subjected to various forms of torture. He was held in Bučje until December 19, 1991 when he was transferred to the Stara Gradiška prison. He was exchanged on February 6, 1992. After captivity, he continued to work as a doctor, and he worked until retirement in 2009. He is a 65% invalid. Today he lives in Lipik.
