Veljko Grković

Veljko Grković was born in 1959. His family comes from Lika. He spent his early childhood and youth in Zadar. He was in Zadar until September 1991 and he witnessed the events that are known as the 'Zadar Night of Broken Glass'. He then went with his mother to Plaški where he spent the entire course of the war, due to a blockade. He refused to join the SAO Krajina Army [Serbian Autonomous Oblast of Krajina]. After Operation Storm he joined the column of refugees leaving Croatia. In Serbia he hid from the authorities to avoid being mobilised. In March 1997 he returned to Croatia. Today he lives with his mother in Plaški. He is unemployed and volunteers for the Serbian Democratic Forum association.
