Sniježana Matejčić

Sniježana Matejčić was born in 1958 in Požega. During the Informbiro period her father was denounced and imprisoned on Goli Otok for two years. This had a marked effect on the the family. At the end of his life, her father made notes about his imprisonment which Sniježana Matejčić plans to publish. After obtaining a degree in political science, she first worked as a tourist guide and later, upon moving to Istria, she worked for a local newspaper. That was the beginning of her career in journalism. She is also active in associations that deal with the promotion and protection of women's rights. She is one of the founders of the Centre for Civil Initiatives in Poreč. She lives in Poreč and carries out freelance work.
