Slavica Kanić Detelić

Slavica Kanić Detelić was born in 1926 in the Velika Gorica municipality. At the very beginning of the Second World War she got involved in the activities of the Young Communist League of Yugoslavia and following the capitulation of Italy she joined the Partisans. Upon joining she was wounded. She therefore spent the rest of her days in the Partisans performing duties as a code clerk, which did not require great physical fortitude. After the War she worked with KOS [the Counterintelligence Service] and later with OZNA [the Department of National Security]. She gifted her life savings for the construction of a nursery school in Mala Mlaka. She died aged 92 in Zagreb on 22 March 2017.
