Nenad Boban
Nenad Boban was born in 1943 in Split. After graduating from the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo, he started his career as a lawyer. In many situations he took a position against the then-political system in Yugoslavia. With the political changes at the beginning of the 1990s he got involved in politics within the framework of Hrvatska demokratska stranka [HDS, Croatian Democratic Party]. Later, in September 1991, he volunteered for the military. He spent most of this time on the Southern Battlefield, as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the summer of 1992 he was demobilised and he resumed his law practice in Split. Amongst others, he defended General Luka Džanka who was suspect by the ICTY of having broken humanitarian law on the Southern Battlefield. Today he lives and works as a lawyer in Split.
