Miško Ercegović

Mihovil Ercegović was born in 1947 in Dubrovnik. A part of his family suffered losses during the Second World War, and also during the time of Yugoslavia. Their property was confiscated in Yugoslavia. At the beginning of the war in the 1990s Mihovil Ercegović was in Dubrovnik. On October 10, 1991, whilst trying to photograph burnt out areas of Dubrovnik and its surroundings, he and his son were captured and taken to the Bileća camp. He was there until December 23, 1991, when he was exchanged. He witnessed the torturing of prisoners, and he was tortured himself. Today he lives and works in Dubrovnik.
