Mirsad Tokić

Mirsad Tokić was born in 1969 in Zagreb. He grew up in a multinational environment with a belief in the values that were promoted in Yugoslavia. Despite having been born and having lived in Croatia all of his life, after Croatia became independent he had problems in acquiring citizenship documents. He was mobilized when Operation Storm was being prepared. In the period before and after Operation Storm he participated in military actions in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the end of the war he was unable to find a suitable job. He subsequently started working for a private firm that dealt with demining. In 2007 he lost a leg in an accident in a minefield near Gospić. Today he is retired and lives with his wife and child in Zagreb.
