Mira Repac
Mira Repac was born in Bihać, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 1968. Her family suffered losses in the Second World War. Her paternal grandfather was killed by the Ustaše in Garavice near Bihać, a place where mass killings occurred. Before the war in the 1990s she lived with her family in the village of Srb, in Lika. During the war she lived in SAO Krajina [Serbian Autonomous Oblast of Krajina], which she left in 1995, at the time of Operation Storm, as a refugee. She was a witness of the shelling of the refugee column in Bosanski Petrovac. After spending nine years in refuge in Sremska Rača, she returned to Croatia, to Donji Lapac, together with her family. Their house was neither destroyed nor burnt down, but it was however devastated. Today her family lives in poor circumstances, as they have no income.
