Mate Vuković

Mate Vuković was born in Saborsko, Lika, in 1961. During WWII, some members of his family were involved in the Ustashe movement and some were shot due to these activities. During Yugoslavia, he worked as a manual worker in Hidroelektra and earned money while working abroad. All that he earned, he invested in Saborsko, where he returned for good just before the war. During the attack on Saborsko, he actively participated in its defense. His family were refugees from the end of 1991 to August 1995, and at the time he was a member of the Croatian army units. They returned to Saborsko in 1995, after the military action 'Storm'. He lives today with his family in Saborsko and works actively on the improvement of living conditions there.
