Katarina Bergman

Katarina Bergman was born in 1940 in Donji Varoš, near to Stara Gradiška. She moved to Pakrac in 1957 to pursue her studies and has since been living and working there, apart from the time she spent in refuge. At the beginning of the war in the 1990s she was working at the medical centre in Pakrac. She participated in the evacuation of the hospital. Her care for patients in the hospital which was constantly under shelling, and the assistance she gave during its evacuation was recognised, and she received an acknowledgement from the President. She returned to Pakrac in 1992, having spent time in refuge, and continued her career as a medical worker. Today she lives in Pakrac and is retired.
