Julijana Rosandić

Julijana Rosandić was born in 1952 in the village of Klakar, east of Slavonski Brod. She comes from an old Slavonian family in which religion was practiced and the predominant ideology in Yugoslavia was not accepted. At the beginning of the war in the 1990s she lived with her husband and two young sons in Slavonski Brod. During one of numerous shellings of Slavonski Brod, a shell hit a car that the family was in, and they suffered grave injuries. Her husband had his arm amputated, and her younger son spent more than forty days in critical condition; it was uncertain whether he would survive. Today they all live in Slavonski Brod. Julijana Rosandić is the President of the Union of Associations of Croatian Civilian Victims of the Homeland War. She advocates the recognition of rights for civilian war victims.
