Joško Jelavić

Joško Jelavić was born in 1937 in Trpanj, on the Pelješac peninsula. Before the war in Croatia he worked as a journalist, and at the beginning of the war he became Chief Editor at Radio Dubrovnik. On October 1, 1991, the day of the first attack on Dubrovnik, Joško Jelavić was the person who informed the inhabitants that the town had been attacked. During the siege of Dubrovnik he didn't leave the town and he regularly carried out his work at the radio station. Today he is retired and he lives in Dubrovnik.
