Ivo Marinović

Ivo Marinović was born in 1920 in Mikulići in the Konavle region. He started studying medicine in Belgrade, but with the start of the Second World War he continued his studies in Zagreb. Due to the difficult political circumstances following the establishment of the NDH [Independent State of Croatia], he discontinued his studies and returned to his native region. In Risan, in Boka Kotorska, he worked as a medical assistant until he joined the Partisan movement. He witnessed the period of the Italian and German occupation of southern Dalmatia. After the War he completed his studies and worked first in Sarajevo and then in Split.
