Ivan Župić
Ivan Župić was born in 1965 in Sinj. Although members of his family did not fight on the side of the occupying forces, during the Second World War their family house in Sinj was the logistical base for the occupying army in the area, which caused problems for his grandfather after the arrival of the Partisans. In a material sense, his family had a hard life during Yugoslavia. Before the war in the 1990s
Ivan Župić and his family lived under harsh economic conditions. At the beginning of the war, he volunteered for the Croatian Army. He served on all major battlefields and was seriously injured in 1994 in the area of Ravni Kotari. He also took part in Operation Storm. In 1995, following the Tuđman – Izetbegović Agreement, he went to fight in Bosnia, in the area near to the Croatian-Bosnian border. Following the war he remained in the active military service. He was retired at the beginning of the 2000s, following the restructuring of the Croatian Army. Today he lives in Solin.
