Gordana Stojanović

Gordana Stojanović was born in 1960 in Virovitica. In her early childhood, she moved to Baranja with her parents who were both educational workers. By vocation, she is a physical education teacher. At the beginning of the war in the 1990s she was in Baranja. Due to a combination of circumstances and the fact that her then-husband was of Serb origin, she remained in the area of Baranja which subsequently became a part of SAO Krajina. The rest of her family was in Osijek and keeping in contact with them was difficult. By helping people from SAO Krajina to establish contact with members of their families who lived in Croatia and helping to organise meetings in Hungary, she started her involvement in peace activism. Her life path changed; she left her career in education and became solely involved in the areas of peace activism and human rights protection. She remains active in these areas to this days.
