Gordan Vukić

Gordan Vukić was born in 1966 in Split. His family comes from Unešić, from the Dalmatian hinterland. Members of his extended family fought on opposite sides during the Second World War: one of his uncles was an Ustaša, whilst another two were members of the Partisans. When the war in the 1990s started, he was a history and philosophy student in Zadar. In 1991, having finished attending all his lectures at the university, he went to war. He took fought on various battlefields in Croatia. Following his demobilization in 1993, he worked as a teacher in several schools in Dalmatia, and subsequently went to western Slavonia, to Pakrac. He is a member of the Pakrac–Lipik Historical Society and the author of a book about the history of the Pakrac-Lipik area.
