Darko Vasiljević

Darko Vasiljević was born in 1974 in Dubrovnik. His family comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina. On November 10, 1991, during a shelling of Dubrovnik, his father was killed. After his father's death, Darko went to Serbia, and later to Bosnia. He returned to Dubrovnik with the intention of completing his education, but the threat of war that was present in the Dubrovnik area at the time made him go to the United Kingdom, to London. He graduated from university there. In 2002 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He decided to return to Dubrovnik, where he lives today. He is active in the Protiv zaborava [Against Forgetting] association, which deals with issues relating to the rights of civilians of Serb nationality who suffered losses in the war.
