Damir Pilić

Damir Pilić was born in 1969 in Šibenik. He comes from a family that moved from Bosnia to the Dalmatian hinterland many centuries ago. At the beginning of the 1970s, Damir Pilić’s immediate family moved to Split. Whilst studying psychology in Zagreb, he started collaborating with the Slobodna Dalmacija daily newspaper. This marked the beginning of his journalistic career. Following the privatisation of Slobodna Dalmacija, he joined the journalists who founded the Feral Tribune newspaper and worked there until 1997. He followed and wrote critically about the socio-political situation during and after the war and he is familiar with the human rights violations that have taken place in Croatia since its independence. Today he lives in Split and works as a journalist for Slobodna Dalmacija.
