Božo Judaš

Božo Judaš was born in the year 1939, but the exact date of his birth is not known. He comes from the small village of Miloševo Brdo in the Potkozarje area. His father was killed by the Ustaše at the very beginning of the Second World War, whilst he, his mother and his little sister were taken prisoner. His mother was separated from them, and he never saw her again. He and his sister were taken via Gradiška, Mlaka and Jasenovac to the children's camp in Sisak. In August 1942 he was adopted by a family from Petrinja and since then, apart from the time he spent in refuge, he has been living in Petrinja. He met with his biological brother and sister and the members of their families on several occasions during the time of Yugoslavia, but contact was cut at the beginning of the war in the 1990s. At the time of Yugoslavia he founded a family and worked as a geography teacher at the Grammar School in Petrinja. During the war in the 1990s his family left Petrinja to seek refuge in Sisak, whilst Božo Judaš himself was mobilised and became involved with the refugee community. Since 2004 he has been retired. He lives in Petrinja.
