Anton Hauswitschka

Antun Hauswitschka was born in 1965 in Dubrovnik. His great grandfather came to the area of Dubrovnik with the Austro-Hungarian Army and decided to permanently settle there. During the political turmoil of 1971 his father was labelled a Croatian nationalist and was unable to find work for a number of years. At the beginning of the war in the 1990s Antun Hauswitschka was in Dubrovnik: he spent the siege living in the Old Town and sharing the destiny of the rest of the population. During the war he became involved with journalism. Having been Vjesnik's Dubrovnik correspondent for a number of years, he now works at Dubrovački Vjesnik.
