Ane Bokun

Ane Bokun was born in 1951 in a small place called Podimoć, in the Dubrovnik Municipality. Ane, her husband and their two sons aged 10 and 11 were in Dubrovnik at the beginning of the war, whilst her daughter was a student in Split. After living through a lot of shelling and fear, on November 10, 1991 Ane's 11-year old son and husband were killed during a shelling, and her younger son was wounded. Following the tragedy, Ane and her younger son fled to Istria. They remained there until the end of January 1991, when they returned to Dubrovnik. Ane and her surviving son Ivan never recovered from their loss. Today they live in Dubrovnik. Ane is receiving her husband's pension.
